A four-day class designed for anyone who is interested in water gilding and wants to learn more to improve their skills. The object we will gild from start to finish will be a Florentine picture frame.
Students will learn to prepare rabbit skin glue, chalk gesso, bole, gilding liquor and toners. These materials will be applied as a demonstration and each student will work on his/her own frame. Light, reflection and space created by using gold leaf and pigments all formed on planet earth.  My intention is to bring more light to a period in time where we all need it. These are interior mind landscapes.

The paintings and drawings are made using handmade materials. Egg tempera made with earth pigments, oak gall ink, and sumi ink sticks are just a few of the materials used to create these works on gold and silver leaf.
